Eberhard & Co. - Contodat Chronograph 18kt - Uomo - 1960
Very rare historic chronograph. Eberhard was the first manufacturer who combined a chronograph timepiece with a date aperture with the Contodat, back in 1957. Manufacturing calibre Eberhard 310-82. Characteristic: Quick date adjusting is on the side of the case, next to the 9. Rotating date disc switches between black and red numerals on the 6. Diameter: 38.3 mm. Thickness: 13.3 mm. The fierce case lugs and thin bezels make the watch larger at the wrist. 100% original watch. Case, dial and timepiece are in very good condition. The original dial has never been restored and barely has patina. Few spots on the edge of the dial. The case has barely been polished, the gold brand is clearly visible. Italy is an important selling market for Eberhard. The Contodat has a red indicator for 50 with a line on the dial since mid 1959, to be able to read the speed of 50 km/h. That was when the maximum speed of 50 km/h in urban areas was introduced in Italy. Red brown crocodile leather strap (length 23 cm) and gold-coloured clasp. Weight watch/strap: 59 grams. Signed Eberhard on the dial, crown, case bottom and time piece. Treatment history unknown. The watch functions well. A nice piece of history by Eberhard. Insured shipping at retail price.
