The oil portrait on canvas is Dutch in origin, most likely from the early to mid 20th century. 1930’s - 1960’s. Housed in a bronze/black gilded plaster frame of similar age. Name of subject is not known, but it could be well known Dutch potter: Hans Wagner. There is no artist's signature or date.
Behind male subject, two small details in the background. One, a hanging portrait of an older woman. Two, a scrap of paper tacked to the wall.
Frame: has loss to the upper left corner, A small area of loss at lower-left corner, approx. 1cm DIA..
Painting: fantastic condition with slight discoloration/yellowing of the surface, consistent with age. Few small areas of paint loss.
