A. Di MAURO acoustic guitar
Antoine Di Mauro was a luthier from Sicily, who moved to Paris in 1934. He is one of the pillars of French guitar making.
This model most likely dates from the 1940s-1950s; there are some similarities with Catanian guitar designs of that time.
All solid wood:
Maple back and sides
Head nut width: 44 mm
Soundboard width: 355 mm
Scale: 630 mm
The neck is a ‘D’ shape, straight, easy to play.
The guitar has been restored: reinforcement brackets on the back (visible through the rosette), back glued, 2 cracks in the soundboard reinforced, there are still traces of wear and small scuffs, the filigree on the soundboard is damaged in some places, but the guitar remains in good condition given its age. The bridge is probably not the original.
The soundboard was smoothly re-varnished.
Please take a good look at the pictures for more details.
The case is worn - see pictures.
The sound is ample, warm and sweet.
