t.a. Anthonie Waterloo (1609-1690)
Two small Dutch landscapes. Etching 17th century.
Dimensions images: 8.2 x 11.8 cm with margin average 1 mm and 8.7 x 14 cm with margin average 8 mm.
The smallest is entirely in the style and size of the series of small Dutch landscapes of Waterloo, but a signature is missing. It is an emphasis from the eighteenth century on somewhat sturdy paper without recognizable watermark. The somewhat larger etching is also a later print, probably second half of the 18th century. Top left possible a remnant of the little f with which Waterloo often marked its etchings, always at the top left. Printed on paper with on the backside a point grid, known from the series reprints of Waterloo from that time.
The second etching has a tiny tear in the left margin, outside the press edge and well outside the image and also a narrow remnant of modern tape along the top. The smaller etching has two barely visible spots of former tape on the back.
