An excellent porcelain bowl, measuring circa 20cm in diameter and weighing 356g, very finely painted in underglaze blue with decor of an elaborate vessel containing two Pun-Sai (Bonsai) trees. It is not widely known that the art of miniature trees is at origin Chinese, not Japanese.
Estimated to be from the Yongzheng period, judged by the decor and the excellent quality.
Condition: The rim is broken and repaired, from which emanates a hairline. I have tried to photograph the repaired section from as many angles as possible to give a fair impression. Also i have removed the original restoration plaster covering good sections of the porcelain. In my opinion, the bowl is worth a professional restoration.
