french copper/brass lanterns from the early 19th century. Lantern can both be hung and be carried by hand. Has a special triangular shape, with glass on 3 sides
The lantern still shows traces of wears. in this period most lanterns were made of iron and were mainly used by the working class. Copper lanterns were especially made for the upper middle class to use in their garden and carriage houses.
The lantern has some wear but is otherwise still in good condition.
