Box - Cloisonne enamel - Marked 'Shotoku' 正徳 - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912)
A fine Meiji-era enamel on copper cloisonné lidded box, measuring circa 12½cm in length and weighing 415g, richly decorated in polychrome enamels within within wire reserves, with floral and geometric decors against a predominant green background colour. Marked to the underside with two characters.
Condition: Generally very good. The box is a tiny bit warped, about 1mm. The glaze is rough on the underside where the mark appears to have been sandpapered.
This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
