Grosz and Raoul Hausmann organised the first International Dada Fair in Berlin.
He practised grotesque exaggeration to show the condition of the post-war world. He borrows a feverish representation of cities from futurists and Dadaists.
Grosz was Anti-Nazi and left Germany for New York City in 1932 until 1955. He became a citizen of the United States in 1938. In 1959, he choose to return to Berlin. He is considered one of the most important artists of the first half of the 20th century.
