Beautiful classically designed sculpture after the example of the 'Chevaux de Marly' from the artist Coustou (1677 - 1746).
These marble sculptures were ordered in 1739 by king Louis XV.
The zamac sculpture, a prancing horse with its trainer, is nicely gold/bronze coloured.
It is in good condition.
An old repair visible where the left leg is fastened. A patina layer was added in this place: not that bothersome.
Only a couple of small spots in the finish: absolutely not bothersome.
The sculpture stands on a wooden pedestal. This pedestal has a crack due to drought and some small spots in the black paint layer. In a neat and sturdy condition.
The sculpture has a distinguished appearance.
Dimensions, including pedestal:
38.5 cm wide
24 cm deep
45 cm high
The sculpture will be carefully packaged and sent by registered mail.
