about the nudist culture in Germany (1932)
Riebicke was a significant German photographer in the 20th century. He specialised in sports, dance and nude photography. The complete archive was destroyed in World War 2 . Until 1933, the photos were published by him in countless books and magazines. 3 of his photos made it into the annual album “Das Deutsche Lichtbild”.
In 2000 a book was published based on his first monographic exhibition of his nude photographs by the gallery Bodo Niemann, Berlin. In 2002, a comprehensive retrospective was exhibited at the Museum of Photography in Moscow.
As the bulk of the work by Riebicke was destroyed, one can assume that his vintage prints are unique.
