Upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian, 100 million years - Haqil, Byblos, Lebanon

Small sharks. Body slim and elongate. Sharks have a hydrodynamic body, lateral bronchial slits, very good sight and a very well
developed sense of smell. They swim by undulating the posterior part of the body and the caudal fin.
With some exceptions (a 3.70 m shark found), the Lebanese sharks are small (50 cm) compared to the present day forms.

Recent relatives: closely related to the recent cat shark of the Scyliorhinus
Genus.
