Strong precipitations on the continent brought typically land plants, such as ferns, conifers, flower plants, etc. This plant, modern-type association that is very different from the floras as in the Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous, indicates a major mid-cretaceous floristic change in the Middle East. The abundance of these plants suggest that the climate must not have been very arid.

petiole with widened base (crow foot?)
